In Illinois, servers, bartenders, managers and anyone checking IDs at an on-premise licensee are BASSET certified within 120 days of hire. The certificate lasts three years from issue and is renewed by taking the course again. The state no longer mails cards: the record sits on the ILCC's lookup, which can take up to 45 days to show it. Some cities set a shorter window for new hires - set yours below.
A person goes on a shift only if, on that date, they hold a certificate in force or are still inside the new-hire window.
