A California LLC pays the $800 annual tax by the 15th day of the 4th month of its tax year (in its first year, the 15th day of the 4th month after it registered with the Secretary of State), even with no business. If California income reaches $250,000 it also estimates and pays the LLC fee by the 15th day of the 6th month. Form 568 is due the 15th day of the 4th month after the year ends for a single-member LLC owned by a person, the 3rd month for one taxed as a partnership. Filing late costs $18 per member per month, up to 12 months; paying late, 5% a month up to 25%. Every two years the Statement of Information goes to the Secretary of State in the six months ending with the month the LLC was formed; missing it costs $250. A date on a weekend moves to Monday (holidays are not counted here - check the FTB calendar).
Add a tax year and its filings are worked out from Setup. A year closes only when every filing in it has a date and a confirmation number. A closed year stays closed.
