New Mexico's gross receipts tax reaches services as well as goods - a performance fee, a booking, a commission - and is on the seller, not the buyer. The rate is the state's 4.875% plus the local rate where the receipts are sourced; combined rates run from about 5.25% to 9.425%. Put in each place you work with its combined rate and location code from the Department's current rate schedule - they change every January and July.
File monthly if your tax averages more than $200 a month; otherwise quarterly (under $600 a quarter) or semiannually (under $1,200 a half). Each TRD-41413 is due the 25th of the month after the period - and is filed even with nothing to report. Late: 2% of the tax a month or part, up to 20%, at least $5 even with no tax due, plus interest.
