Oregon Paid Leave and Colorado FAMLI both let a self-employed person - a dancer working for herself, a creator, a performer - opt in, for an initial three years, paying a share of the premium on their own earnings. Colorado 2026: 0.88% of earnings, half paid by the worker; 90% of the average weekly wage up to half the state average ($1,608.91 from July 2026), 50% above, up to $1,448.02 a week. Oregon: 1% of earnings, 60% paid by the worker; 100% of the average weekly wage up to 65% of the state average, 50% above, up to $1,692.16 a week (120% of the state average) from June 2026. Pick your state below - every figure is editable for when the next year's are announced.
Once you opt in you report your earnings each quarter and pay the premium on them. Coverage runs at least three years; you cannot leave it sooner.
