Angelus keeps your Los Angeles business tax certificate on file, puts each year's renewal on the last day of February, shows whether you qualify for the $100,000 small-business or $300,000 creative-artist exemption - and that it only holds if the renewal is on time.

The problem
The Office of Finance says independent contractors working in the city normally owe the business tax and need a registration certificate - and its AB63 program finds the ones who do not, using state tax data. The tax is usually zero, but only for a renewal filed by the end of February.
worldwide gross receipts or less: no tax - if the renewal is on time.
LA Office of Finance →of creative-artist receipts exempt - again only with a timely renewal.
LA Office of Finance →Not a reminder. Filed refuses with no certificate on file, no gross receipts for the year, a date inside the tax year itself, or no confirmation number. Filed after February, the year is marked exemption lost. A city letter cannot be marked answered without a sentence on how. Nothing is deleted. There is no override.
How it works
The number and the date you registered.
Angelus shows which exemption it qualifies for.
Then record the confirmation number here.
What it will never do
Angelus holds the certificate, receipts, dates and confirmation numbers, nothing more.

Questions
The Office of Finance says independent contractors working in the city are normally engaged in business and need a certificate.
Not if you are registered and the renewal is filed by the end of February. Late, the exemption for that year is lost.
Up to $300,000 of receipts from creative activities for entertainment or aesthetic purposes are exempt - with a timely renewal.
No. It is the record and the gates.
The demo on this page is the whole program, running on invented records. Paying gets you a licence key — one line of text, on your screen as soon as the payment confirms: the checkout brings you back to our thank-you page, you type your business name and the key appears. Paste it into the program and from then on it keeps your own records. Until then, nothing you type into it is kept.
The key is checked inside the page, on your own machine. It never calls us, so there is still no account and nothing about your business goes anywhere. If you ever stop paying, your records stay exactly where they are, read-only, and Export still hands you every one of them.
An invented creator lost a year's exemption to one late renewal - and is $140,000 into a year the creative-artist exemption still covers.
