Mantle records each month's health, long-term care and Medicare premiums, leaves out the months an employer's subsidized plan was open to you, caps long-term care by age and the whole by what the business earned - and says whether you need Form 7206.
Opens in this browser with an invented dancer already in it. No account, no email address, nothing installed. Never holds a Social Security number, a medical record, a policy number or a bank account.
The problem
The deduction is not allowed for any month you could have joined a subsidized employer plan - yours or your spouse's - even if you did not join. It is capped at your net profit less half your self-employment tax. And some years it needs Form 7206.
premiums for any month you were eligible for a subsidized employer plan do not count.
IRS, Form 7206 instructions →required with more than one self-employment income, Form 2555, or long-term care premiums.
IRS, Form 7206 instructions →Not a reminder. A month is refused before it begins, twice, or in a closed year. A year's claim is refused before the year ends, twice, with a month not recorded, or over what the premiums and the profit allow. Nothing is deleted.
How it works
Premiums, and whether an employer plan was open.
Long-term care by age, the whole by net profit.
Schedule 1, on the worksheet or Form 7206.
What it will never do
Mantle holds premiums and months, nothing more.
Pricing
For one performer.
Every premium and the year's claim.
Monthly. Your bank statement says Mantle Software. Your licence key is on your screen as soon as the payment confirms.
Pay by card through Square, on Square’s own checkout page — we never see or store your card number. Or pay with bitcoin through our own bitcoin server. Either way you come back here, type your business name, and your licence key is on the screen — no email, no waiting on us.
Questions
The months its subsidized plan was open to you do not count, even if you did not sign up. Mantle leaves them out.
With more than one self-employment income, Form 2555 or long-term care premiums, yes. Otherwise the worksheet in the Form 1040 instructions will do.
That changes the figure - IRS Publication 974. Mantle says so rather than guess.
No. It is the arithmetic and the record.
The demo on this page is the whole program, running on invented records. Paying gets you a licence key — one line of text, on your screen as soon as the payment confirms: the checkout brings you back to our thank-you page, you type your business name and the key appears. Paste it into the program and from then on it keeps your own records. Until then, nothing you type into it is kept.
The key is checked inside the page, on your own machine. It never calls us, so there is still no account and nothing about your business goes anywhere. If you ever stop paying, your records stay exactly where they are, read-only, and Export still hands you every one of them.
An invented dancer paid her own premiums all last year, with three months of a club's plan open - see what counts.
