Muddler splits each open night's take into mixed drinks, ice, mixers and what is not taxed, works out the mixed beverage gross receipts tax, and will not let a month be filed while any open night in it is unrecorded.
Opens in this browser with an invented club already in it. No account, no email address, nothing installed. Totals only, never a customer.
The problem
Texas charges the permit holder 6.7% of what it takes for mixed beverages, ice and mixers, filed and paid by the 20th of the next month. A late report costs $50, and late tax 5% or 10% on top.
Not a reminder. Filed refuses, naming the night, while any open night in the month is unrecorded - a closed night is recorded as closed, so a month with no sales still files. Once filed, the month's figures cannot change. There is no override.
How it works
Mixed drinks, ice, mixers, and what is not taxed here - or closed.
Taxable receipts, the 6.7%, the 20th it is due, and any penalty building.
With the confirmation. Then the month is locked as filed.
What it will never do
Muddler holds nightly totals and filing dates, nothing more.
Pricing
For one venue.
Every night, every month.
Monthly, per venue. Your bank statement says Muddler Software. Your licence key is on your screen as soon as the payment confirms.
Pay by card through Square, on Square’s own checkout page — we never see or store your card number. Or pay with bitcoin through our own bitcoin server. Either way you come back here, type your business name, and your licence key is on the screen — no email, no waiting on us.
Questions
Mixed drinks - spirits, beer, ale and wine - plus ice and non-alcoholic drinks sold to be mixed. Food and cover charges stay out.
Record the nights as closed and the month still files, at nothing owed.
No. It is the worksheet and the gate in front of filing.
The demo on this page is the whole program, running on invented records. Paying gets you a licence key — one line of text, on your screen as soon as the payment confirms: the checkout brings you back to our thank-you page, you type your business name and the key appears. Paste it into the program and from then on it keeps your own records. Until then, nothing you type into it is kept.
The key is checked inside the page, on your own machine. It never calls us, so there is still no account and nothing about your business goes anywhere. If you ever stop paying, your records stay exactly where they are, read-only, and Export still hands you every one of them.
Last month has one open night that was never recorded, so it will not file until it is.
