Your company’s deal decides your line.

Whether an independent consultant must register with the state depends on what the direct selling company has agreed with it. In Washington, with no agreement, you register if you must collect retail sales tax at all, or once yearly gross income reaches $12,000. With an agreement where the company collects sales tax, the lines are much higher.

How do I know which agreement my company has?

Ask the company; it knows. Set it in Settings and Soiree uses the matching line.

Is gross income the same as sales?

Soiree counts it as your sales plus your commission, to be safe. Ask your preparer how your state counts it.

Is this tax advice?

No. It is the log you keep and the line you watch.

What do I actually get when I pay?

The demo on this page is the whole program, running on invented records. Paying gets you a licence key — one line of text, on your screen as soon as the payment confirms: the checkout brings you back to our thank-you page, you type your business name and the key appears. Paste it into the program and from then on it keeps your own records. Until then, nothing you type into it is kept.
