Sounding puts each month's income against the yearly figure the Marketplace was told, shows where the year is heading, and - when the two drift past your line - makes you report the change or write down why not. Before April does it for you.
Opens in this browser with an invented dancer already in it. No account, no email address, nothing installed. Never holds a tax return, a Marketplace login, a health record or a Social Security number.
The problem
The advance credit is paid every month on the income you told the Marketplace. Until 2025 most households paid back only a capped amount if they earned more. Beginning with tax year 2026 the full excess is repaid on Form 8962.
Not a reminder. Once the projection is past your line, Sounding asks for one of two things: a change reported to the Marketplace, with its reference, or the figure kept with a written reason. The figure on file changes only through a report. Nothing is deleted. There is no override.
How it works
Household income as the month closes.
Where the year is heading against the figure on file.
Report the change with its reference, or keep the figure and say why.
What it will never do
Sounding holds income figures, dates and references, nothing more.
Pricing
For one household.
Every month, every change.
Monthly. Your bank statement says Sounding Software. Your licence key is on your screen as soon as the payment confirms.
Pay by card through Square, on Square’s own checkout page — we never see or store your card number. Or pay with bitcoin through our own bitcoin server. Either way you come back here, type your business name, and your licence key is on the screen — no email, no waiting on us.
Questions
The IRS says that beginning with tax year 2026 the repayment caps are gone: the whole excess advance credit is repaid.
No. It tracks income against the figure on file and makes you act on the gap. The credit is the Marketplace's arithmetic.
How far the projection may drift from the figure on file before Sounding asks you to act - 10% unless you change it. It is your choice, not an IRS rule.
No. It is the record and the gates.
The demo on this page is the whole program, running on invented records. Paying gets you a licence key — one line of text, on your screen as soon as the payment confirms: the checkout brings you back to our thank-you page, you type your business name and the key appears. Paste it into the program and from then on it keeps your own records. Until then, nothing you type into it is kept.
The key is checked inside the page, on your own machine. It never calls us, so there is still no account and nothing about your business goes anywhere. If you ever stop paying, your records stay exactly where they are, read-only, and Export still hands you every one of them.
An invented dancer told the Marketplace $38,000 and is heading for about $60,600, with the credit still paid on the old figure.
