Cumberland Tennessee LLC Franchise & Excise Tax
For performers, creators and clubs run as Tennessee LLCs

$100 even in a quiet year. Plus the annual report.

Cumberland works out your Tennessee LLC's franchise tax on net worth and excise tax on net earnings past the $50,000 deduction, keeps the FAE-170 and the separate annual report on their dates, and will not let either go in short.

Opens in this browser with an invented performer's LLC already in it. No account, no email address, nothing installed. Never holds a Social Security number, a tax account login or a bank account.

The problem

An LLC that did nothing still owes $400.

Tennessee charges an LLC franchise tax of 0.25% of net worth - never under $100, active or not - and 6.5% excise on net earnings past $50,000, on the FAE-170 by April 15. The annual report to the Secretary of State is separate, $300 at least.

Will not let either filing go in short.

Not a reminder. The FAE-170 is refused before the year ends, twice, without net worth or net earnings, or short of both taxes and any late penalty. The annual report is refused twice, without the members, or short of its fee. Nothing is deleted.

It is not tax or legal advice.Tennessee's Department of Revenue is the reference.

Questions

The ones we actually get asked

My LLC had no income this year.

It still owes the $100 minimum franchise tax, and the annual report.

I'm a sole proprietor, not an LLC.

Then franchise and excise tax do not reach you - Cumberland is for the LLC.

What does the $50,000 deduction do?

Excise tax is 6.5% of net earnings past the first $50,000.

Is this tax advice?

No. It is the arithmetic and the record.

What do I actually get when I pay?

The demo on this page is the whole program, running on invented records. Paying gets you a licence key — one line of text, on your screen as soon as the payment confirms: the checkout brings you back to our thank-you page, you type your business name and the key appears. Paste it into the program and from then on it keeps your own records. Until then, nothing you type into it is kept.

The key is checked inside the page, on your own machine. It never calls us, so there is still no account and nothing about your business goes anywhere. If you ever stop paying, your records stay exactly where they are, read-only, and Export still hands you every one of them.
