Leavebook works out who is covered, what each person has earned of Paid Leave and Paid Sick Leave, when they may use it, and what is owed when they leave - and refuses leave or a last day that would break the ordinance.
Opens in this browser with an invented club already in it. No account, no email address, nothing installed. Never holds the reason for a sick day, a medical note or a Social Security number.
The problem
Anyone who works 80 hours in 120 days in Chicago earns an hour of each kind of leave per 35 worked. Sick leave from day 30, Paid Leave from day 90, carryover, and a payout when someone leaves. Every person's numbers are different.
an hour of Paid Leave and an hour of Paid Sick Leave for every 35 worked.
National Law Review →the top fine per violation - and workers can sue for three times the damages.
National Law Review →Not a reminder. Leave is refused for someone not covered, before day 30 or 90, or past the balance. A last day is refused at a business with more than 50 covered employees until the unused Paid Leave is paid out. Nothing is deleted. There is no override.
How it works
Hours worked in Chicago, per person.
Paid Leave and sick leave, worked out with carryover.
Days taken, and the payout on the last day.
What it will never do
Leavebook holds hours and dates, nothing more.

Questions
Once they reach 80 hours in any 120 days in Chicago, yes. Leavebook works it out from the weeks you enter.
Yes. Tick frontload and each worker gets 40 of each at the start of the year; Paid Leave then does not carry over.
No. Only unused Paid Leave, and only at a business with more than 50 covered employees.
No. It is the record and the gates.
The demo on this page is the whole program, running on invented records. Paying gets you a licence key — one line of text, on your screen as soon as the payment confirms: the checkout brings you back to our thank-you page, you type your business name and the key appears. Paste it into the program and from then on it keeps your own records. Until then, nothing you type into it is kept.
The key is checked inside the page, on your own machine. It never calls us, so there is still no account and nothing about your business goes anywhere. If you ever stop paying, your records stay exactly where they are, read-only, and Export still hands you every one of them.
An invented club's door host is leaving with Paid Leave owed - and Leavebook will not record the last day until it is paid.
