Sanction Production Health Permit File
For producers shooting in Los Angeles County

No permit, no shoot day.

Sanction holds the county public health permit with the training and exposure control plan it rests on, the City of Los Angeles film permit that asks for proof of it, and the performer notice - and will not clear a production to shoot while any of it is missing for that date.

Opens in this browser with an invented producer already in it. No account, no email address, nothing installed. No film, still or performer name is ever kept.

The problem

Two permits, one date.

Measure B asks a producer filming in Los Angeles County to hold a county public health permit, granted after approved bloodborne pathogen training and an exposure control plan, and to display it while filming. The City of Los Angeles asks for proof of it before it issues a film permit.

2012

the year county voters passed Measure B.

Will not clear a shoot that is not covered.

Not a reminder. Clear to shoot refuses, naming the reason, when no county permit is in force on the date, when the permit has no training or plan from before it was issued, when a City shoot has no film permit recorded, or when the performers have not had the notice. Marked shot needs who saw the permit posted. There is no override.

How it works

Permit, production, shoot

Record the county permit

Its dates, the fee, the training and the exposure control plan it rests on.

Add each production

Working title, date, the city it is in, the film permit, the performer notice.

Clear it, shoot it

Cleared only when every piece covers the date. Shot only with the posting confirmed.

What it will never do

It keeps the paperwork. Never the film.

Sanction holds dates, references and working titles, nothing more.

No film or still is kept.Only a working title and a date.
No performer names. The notice is recorded by date.
It applies for nothing. You deal with the county and the city; Sanction keeps the record.
It is not legal advice.Check current fees and rulings with counsel.

Questions

The ones we actually get asked

Does it apply for the permits?

No. You deal with the county and the city. Sanction keeps the dates and checks them against each shoot.

What about shoots outside the City of Los Angeles?

Anywhere in the county needs the county permit. Only City shoots need the City's film permit recorded here.

Is this legal advice?

No. It is the record and the gate in front of a shoot day.

What do I actually get when I pay?

The demo on this page is the whole program, running on invented records. Paying gets you a licence key — one line of text, on your screen as soon as the payment confirms: the checkout brings you back to our thank-you page, you type your business name and the key appears. Paste it into the program and from then on it keeps your own records. Until then, nothing you type into it is kept.

The key is checked inside the page, on your own machine. It never calls us, so there is still no account and nothing about your business goes anywhere. If you ever stop paying, your records stay exactly where they are, read-only, and Export still hands you every one of them.

One City shoot has no film permit, one falls after the county permit runs out, and one has no performer notice.
