Tabula Biometric Consent and Deletion File
For adult sites using face scans for age checks on Texas visitors

Told first, gone on time.

Tabula records the notice shown and the consent given before each face scan, counts down to the day it must be destroyed, and keeps the deletion receipt - refusing a scan logged without consent first, and a scan marked destroyed without proof.

Opens in this browser with an invented site already in it. No account, no email address, nothing installed. No scan, photo or name is ever kept.

The problem

A face scan is a record you owe an answer for.

Texas' Capture or Use of Biometric Identifier Act bars capturing face geometry for a commercial purpose without telling the person first and getting consent, and wants it destroyed within a reasonable time - no later than a year after the purpose ends.

$25,000

the civil penalty per violation the Texas attorney general can recover.

Texas AG →
1 year

the outside limit for destroying it after the purpose ends.

Tex. Bus. & Com. Code 503 →
Before

the notice and the consent both have to come before the scan.

Tex. Bus. & Com. Code 503 →

Will not log a scan without consent, or call it gone without proof.

Not a reminder. Logging refuses a scan with no notice shown, a notice not in force, or a scan taken before the visitor was told or agreed. Destroyed refuses without the deletion receipt and who did it. A destroyed scan stays destroyed, and a notice a scan used can never be edited. There is no override.

How it works

Notice, scan, destroy

Write your notice

Word for word, with the dates it is in force.

Log each scan

The account number, when they were told, when they agreed, when the scan was taken.

Destroy it on time

When the age check is over the clock starts. Destroyed only with the receipt.

What it will never do

It keeps the dates. Never the face.

Tabula holds references, account numbers and dates, nothing more.

No scan or photo is kept.Only the vendor's reference for it.
No name.An account number is enough to find the scan.
It does not delete anything itself.Your vendor deletes; Tabula keeps the receipt.
It is not legal advice. It is the record and the gate.

Monthly, per site. Your bank statement says Tabula Software. Your licence key is on your screen as soon as the payment confirms.

Pay by card through Square, on Square’s own checkout page — we never see or store your card number. Or pay with bitcoin through our own bitcoin server. Either way you come back here, type your business name, and your licence key is on the screen — no email, no waiting on us.

Questions

The ones we actually get asked

Does it store face scans?

No. Only the reference your age-check vendor uses for each one.

What about Illinois?

Illinois has its own program in this family, Purgeline. Tabula is the Texas file.

Is this legal advice?

No. It is the record and the gates in front of logging and destroying a scan.

What do I actually get when I pay?

The demo on this page is the whole program, running on invented records. Paying gets you a licence key — one line of text, on your screen as soon as the payment confirms: the checkout brings you back to our thank-you page, you type your business name and the key appears. Paste it into the program and from then on it keeps your own records. Until then, nothing you type into it is kept.

The key is checked inside the page, on your own machine. It never calls us, so there is still no account and nothing about your business goes anywhere. If you ever stop paying, your records stay exactly where they are, read-only, and Export still hands you every one of them.

Open the demo before the next scan

One scan is past its one-year limit, one is past the site's own 30 days, and one age check is still open.
