Docent Harassment Training File
For California clubs and adult venues with five or more employees

Two hours, one hour, every two years.

Docent keeps every employee's harassment-prevention training - two hours of the supervisor course for supervisors, one hour for everyone else, the six-month clock, the 30-day rule for short-term hires - and will not sign the file complete while anyone is overdue.

The problem

Five employees is enough.

Since SB 1343 every California employer with five or more employees trains supervisors for two hours and everyone else for one, within six months of starting and every two years - and short-term hires within 30 days or 100 hours.

5 employees

is all it takes for the training rule to apply.

2 years

between trainings, for everyone.

30 days

or 100 hours, for anyone hired for under six months.

Jackson Lewis →

Will not sign the file with anyone overdue.

Not a reminder. Sign refuses, naming the person, while anyone employed that day is past six months untrained, past two years since their last training, or - hired short-term - past 30 days or 100 hours. An employee course never counts for a supervisor, and a promotion restarts the clock. There is no override.

How it works

Hire, train, sign

Add each employee

Supervisor or not, and whether they are short-term.

Log the minutes

Split sessions add up; the supervisor course for supervisors.

Sign the file

Only on a day nobody is overdue. Then it is fixed.

What it will never do

It keeps the record. It does not train.

Docent holds names, roles, minutes and dates.

It runs no course.Use the state's free course or your own; Docent records it.
It reports nothing to the state. It is your own record.
It is not a payroll system.Short-term hours are typed in for the 100-hour rule.
It is not legal advice. It is the record and the gate.

Questions

The ones we actually get asked

Can the hour be split?

Yes. Sessions inside twelve months add up to the hour or the two hours.

What about New York or Illinois?

Each has its own program in this family - Primer and Briefing. Docent is the California file.

Is this legal advice?

No. It is the record and the gate in front of signing.

What do I actually get when I pay?

The demo on this page is the whole program, running on invented records. Paying gets you a licence key — one line of text, on your screen as soon as the payment confirms: the checkout brings you back to our thank-you page, you type your business name and the key appears. Paste it into the program and from then on it keeps your own records. Until then, nothing you type into it is kept.

The key is checked inside the page, on your own machine. It never calls us, so there is still no account and nothing about your business goes anywhere. If you ever stop paying, your records stay exactly where they are, read-only, and Export still hands you every one of them.

A supervisor promoted seven months ago has only the employee hour, and a short-term hire is past 30 days untrained.
